As summer comes and amid soaring temperatures, Maharlu Lake’s water evaporates.
Water evaporation from the lake leads to a reduced water level and the rise of salt concentration in Maharlu, and subsequently causes the growth of salt-tolerant algae known as Dunaliella salina.
